Almost a year after their divorce was finalized, the two reunited at the New York screening of Jennifer’s new film. Kiss of the Spider Woman. Notably, Ben was a producer on the film in which Jennifer plays the title character.
“She’s great in the movie,” Ben told Extra on the red carpet. “I can’t wait for audiences to see this film. I’m as proud of this film as any I’ve ever been a part of. I’m really excited to be here tonight.”
He then praised Jennifer for working “tremendously hard” and delivering a “fabulous” performance in the film. He said: “In this role you can see all of her many talents. You know, she’s someone who grew up watching the classic musicals as a child and can obviously do contemporary dance and all that… She really does everything in this film – the acting, the singing and the dancing – and kind of embodies the whole spirit of it.” He added: “She’s fabulous, although that shouldn’t surprise anyone.”
Naturally, seeing their reunion made fans wonder about a possible reconciliation – but according to a source, that’s not the case at all.
The source told People, “Jennifer is doing well. She’s focused on things that make her happy – family and work.”
While the insider said that she “always enjoyed working with Ben,” they made it clear that there is “no romantic reunion” with him.
“They are doing really well,” the source shared. “They continue to support each other. They are both proud of what they have accomplished together.”
Jen and Ben originally dated from 2001 to 2004 and separated shortly before their wedding. They got back together in 2021 and married in 2022, but split last summer. Recently, Jennifer called the breakup “the best thing that ever happened to me.”
“Because it changed me,” she explained. “It helped me grow in the ways I needed.”
Ben, for his part, told GQ earlier this year that he still has “nothing but respect” for Jennifer.
